WWD has reported today that Balenciaga and parent company Kering have decided not to renew Creative Director Alexander Wang’s contract with the fashion house, with its upcoming show at the next Paris Fashion Week scheduled to be Wang’s last at the helm of the French label. Sources say that a search is already underway for Wang’s successor. This follows on from news that Wang planned to leave the brand to focus on his eponymous label. Wang joined Balenciaga in December 2012, replacing Nicolas Ghesquiere who left to work at Louis Vuitton.
